## Busy day yesterday for the team ## |

|
+Local PCSO's began the day at Hope Valley College, delivering assemblies to the entire school on knife crime as part of Operation Sceptre, a national week-long campaign. We have a strong ongoing relationship with the school and have returned today for a lunchtime drop-in session, providing students with an opportunity to engage with officers on a range of topics, including those covered in the assemblies, also they were joined by “Got Your Back” from Derbyshire Victim services. +Later, the team attended Caroline Court in Hope, a sheltered housing complex for residents aged over 55. Officers spoke with residents about a variety of local and national issues and successfully registered several individuals to Derbyshire Alert, our free community messaging service. +As officers were leaving this engagement, a report was received from a local resident regarding two suspicious males on a motorbike on Castleton Road, Hope. Fortunately, other officers were also in the area and located the individuals. The males failed to stop, and following a short pursuit, were unfortunately lost in traffic near temporary lights at Sickleholme. +A few hours later, while on patrol, the team identified five suspicious individuals with a vehicle on Pindale Road, Hope. Following enquiries, a 22-year-old male from the South Yorkshire area was arrested, as he was wanted for several offences, including theft of a vehicle. +Finally, at about 7pm PC Simpson was alerted to a vehicle entering the Hope Valley via one of the local ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras. The vehicle was located and stopped in Castleton, leading to the arrest of a 26-year-old male from Sheffield, who was wanted for several offences in another force, including rape.
